Thunder Mountain Detachment #1283 was formed on 27 JUN 2007 with 13 members. We are located in Sierra Vista, AZ in southeastern Arizona. Our first commandant was Capt. Milt Cruver, USMC retired. Our goals were to be of service to all Marines and FMF Corpsmen, no matter whether or not they are members of our detachment. Furthermore, no Marine should be buried in Cochise County without us there in MCL uniform at the funeral. We continue to strive to achieve these goals.

Thunder Mountain Detachment is a dedicated organization for former Marines and FMF Corpsmen, fostering camaraderie and support among veterans while honoring their service and sacrifices. We preserve the traditions and promote the interests of the United States Marine Corps. Our members are honorably discharged U.S. Marines and U.S. Navy Corpsmen and their families.
